On October 2, 2024, the Sun exhibited remarkable activity, highlighted by an X1.9-class solar flare originating from sunspot region AR3878. This powerful flare, detected at 16:33 UTC, was observed by NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory. X-class flares are the most intense, with the number indicating their strength; an X1.9 flare is notably potent.

The high-resolution image captured on this date reveals the intricate structure of sunspot AR3878, along with other active regions. The complex magnetic fields in these sunspots increase the potential for additional flares and eruptions, making this period particularly interesting for solar observation.
